BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Minot State men's basketball team got a 21-point performance from the bench, but fell 82-64 to the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets on the road Saturday.
The Beavers (2-1 overall) had four players score in double figures, led by Michael Jok, who had 11 points. Jaxon Gunville added 11 points and Kameron Givens chipped in as well with 10 points and two steals off of the bench.
Led by Khari Broadway's three offensive rebounds, Minot State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 10 boards that resulted in nine second-chance points.
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-32 heading into halftime.
Montana State Billings kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 46-32 advantage before Minot State went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Gunville's three, to shrink the deficit to 46-37 with 18:00 to go in the contest. Montana State Billings responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 82-64. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 16 of its 32 points in the lane.
