MINOT, ND -- The Minot State women's basketball team held Northern State to just 20 percent from beyond the arc in a 5-for-25 shooting performance, but fell 67-57 to the Wolves at the MSU Dome on Thursday in NSIC action.
The Beavers (3-10 overall, 1-4 NSIC) had three players score in double figures, led by Maya Aguilar, who had 11 points. Taylor Goss tacked on 11 points and Sydney Gustavsson chipped in as well with 11 points.
Minot State's defense held Northern State to only 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 40 percent from the field.

"We got to beat by a really good team," Minot State head coach Mike Brandt said. "Credit to them, they're undefeated in the conference and they're playing with a lot of confidence and a lot of poise from the defensive end to the offensive end."
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 18-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 37-24 halftime deficit.
Northern State continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 47-29 advantage before Minot State went on a 10-0 run, punctuated by a three from Gustavsson, to trim its deficit to 47-39 with 1:20 to go in the third. Northern State countered and stretched its lead to 49-39 heading into the fourth. Minot State knocked down two three-pointers in the quarter to score six of its 15 total points.
Northern State kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 61-47 advantage before Minot State went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Aguilar's three, to shrink the deficit to 61-53 with 1:09 to go in the contest. Northern State responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 67-57. Minot State got a boost from its bench in the period, with non-starters scoring 10 of its 18 total points.
