Beavers track & field set new school records on day 2 of the Bison Open

FARGO, N.D. – It was an impressive day two showing for the MSU Beavers track & field squad who wrapped up the Bison Open on Saturday.

Highlighting the day for the Beavers were men's throwers Chase Snyder and Leif Nelson who now sit at first and third in the school's record books for the men's indoor shot put during the DII era. Snyder finished in 6th place with a 16.18-meter toss while Nelson finished in 8th throwing his shot put 15.88 meters.

Distance runners Trent Holiday and Charles Hardcastle finished with impressive times in the men's mile. Holiday finished in 4th place with a time of 4:21.94 and Hardcastle was not far behind finishing in 5th a new personal best time of 4:22.37. Hardcastle's time is now the fifth fastest time in the event during the school's indoor DII era.

Jacob Jensen crossed the finish line in 6th place in the men's 3000 meters in 8:25.41. The senior continues to perform week after week with hopes of securing a spot in the NCAA conference championships and nationals in march.
