Minot State student-athletes excel in classroom as 122 Beavers named to Honor Rolls

MINOT, N.D. – With the end of the semester and grades coming out, the Minot State student-athletes proved their excellence in the classroom as 122 Beavers were named to Honor Rolls for their academic performance this fall.

Sixty-five Minot State student-athletes earned distinction as they were named to the Minot State President's List, while another 57 earned honors as they were named to the Vice President for Academic Affairs' Honor Roll.

To be named to Minot State's President's List, a student must have a 3.8 GPA or higher for their class work for the semester, and to be named to the VPAA's Honor Roll, a student must have between a 3.5 and 3.79 GPA in their class work for the semester.

Along with the long list of student-athletes earning honors for the fall semester, nine teams checked in with a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester, led by the Beavers softball program which boasted a staggering team GPA of 3.543.

Right behind the Beaver softball team in the academic team GPA standings was the Minot State baseball team with a 3.387 team GPA, then the volleyball program with a team GPA of 3.368, the women's basketball team with a 3.3 team GPA, and the women's cross-country team rounding out the top five with a 3.23 team GPA.

The Minot State men's cross-country program was next with a 3.218 team GPA, then the women's golf team with a 3.208 GPA, the women's soccer team with a 3.171 team GPA, and the men's basketball program with a 3.081 team GPA.

The on-campus honors were just some of the accolades that Beaver student-athletes earned, though, as 39 Minot State fall sports student-athletes (women's soccer, cross country, volleyball, and football) were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team, while 11 others earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors in football, women's soccer, and volleyball.

To earn NSIC All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must be in their second season with their respective team and maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher in all their class work, while CSC honorees must be in their second year with their team and maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher in all their class work.
