Beavers earn multiple placers at Eagle Women's Open

Minot State Women's Wrestling competed at the Eagle Women's Open hosted by Chadron State, earning multiple podium finishes and gaining valuable experience against a deep field of regional competition.  The Beavers were led by a strong performance from Alyssa Jones at 131 pounds, who finished as the tournament runner-up after advancing to the championship match.  Jones put together an impressive run that included multiple bonus-point victories before placing second in her weight class.  

At 103 pounds, Kaiya Lopes secured a fifth-place finish, bouncing back from early setbacks to string together key wins and earn a spot on the podium.  Lopes's resilience was on display throughout the tournament as she closed her day with decisive victories to lock in her placement.  

Haleigh Lematta also turned in a notable performance for Minot State, finishing fourth at 145 pounds.  Lematta collected multiple wins throughout the bracket and remained competitive in each bout, showcasing consistency and toughness against quality opponents.  At 180 pounds, Dahlia Silva added another fourth-place finish for the Beavers, advancing deep into the bracket with several bonus-point wins before finishing just outside the top three.  

The Beavers added further depth in the heavyweight division, as Lillian Garrett placed fifth and Gracie Tolman finished sixth at 180 pounds.  Garrett's tournament included multiple victories to climb back through the consolation rounds, while Tolman gained valuable mat time against experienced competition.  Overall, Minot State's performance at the Eagle Women's Open highlighted the team's depth, determination, and continued progress as the season moves forward.
