MINOT, N.D. – As the spring sports take over the NSIC landscape, the league announced its updated annual All-Sports standings through the winter sports season, and the Minot State athletic department finds itself 14th in the league's standings.
Minot State earned 43 points during the fall and winter sports seasons. Minot State competes in the NSIC-sponsored fall sports of volleyball, women's soccer, football, and men's and women's cross country, and the NSIC-sponsored winter sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, and men's wrestling.
The Minot State men's sports teams also were 14
th the in the NSIC All-Sports standings with 16.5 points, and the Minot State women's sports teams were 15th with 26.5 points.
The winner of each title in a conference-sponsored championship sport receives points totaling the number of teams in that sport, plus one. The next-place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.
Minnesota State, Mankato, leads the overall All-Sports standings with 145.5 points, while Augustana is second with 116 points.
The Mavericks also lead the women's All-Sports standings with 89 points, while Augustana leads the men's All-Sports standings with 63 points.
Minot State was 13
th in the NSIC All-Sports standings following the fall sports season. The final standings will be released in the summer following the completion of the spring sports seasons.
