Coach's Comments
"Yeah, it was disappointing definitely for us," Minot State coach Mike Brandt said. "We went into this game and we talked about how they hadn't won a game in conference and they we're coming here loosey goosey with nothing to lose.

"It's a funny game: The mentality of players and what they think and what they are thinking," he added. "We did not execute like we have been executing."

How It Happened

Minot State kept it close in the first quarter, but entered the second frame down 18-14.

The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 40-29 halftime deficit.

Bemidji State continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 43-29 advantage before Minot State went on a 5-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Emily Srejma, to trim its deficit to 43-34 with 7:20 to go in the third. Bemidji State countered and stretched its lead to 56-41 heading into the fourth. Minot State's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled six of the team's 12 third-quarter points.

Minot State narrowed its deficit to 63-49 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Emma Mogen's layup, to shrink the deficit to 63-54 with 4:36 to go in the contest. Bemidji State responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 77-63.
