Minot State Volleyball is hosting the Live 1st Homecoming Classic on Friday September 13 and Saturday September 14. The Beavers will be competing in 4 matches during Homecoming weekend with 2 matches coming on Friday and another 2 matches on Saturday. On Friday, the Beavers will be taking on Medicine Hat in an exhibition game at 12:30 pm, followed by the Beavers taking on the University of Jamestown at 6:30 pm. On Saturday, the Beavers will be taking on Brandon University at 11:00 am, followed by the Beavers taking on Mayville State University at 4:30 pm to close out Homecoming Weekend. All of these matches will be held at the MSU Dome. 

The match ups this weekend are sure to be exciting as it is the first time the Beavers have taken on Medicine Hat and Brandon University. Additionally, the last time the Beavers took on the University of Jamestown was 2011. The two teams played each other twice in 2011 which saw the University of Jamestown taking game 1 and Minot State taking game 2. Similarly, the last time the Beavers took on Mayville State University was 2013. The two teams played each twice in 2013 and the Beavers came out with wins in each match. Historically, the Beavers have had Mayville State University's number as the Beavers have won 13 of the 16 match ups between the two teams dating all the way back to 1977. 

The Beavers are coming off a tough season opening weekend that saw the team drop 4 matches to Montana State University-Billings and Black Hills State in the Yellowjacket Volleyball Invitational. With the 4 upcoming matches, the Beavers have an opportunity to bounce back early in the season. 

The Beavers offense is currently led by Paulina Kowalska with 32 kills, defense is led by Maddy Boop with 28 digs, and Emily Barker leads the way at setter with 43 assists. 

Following Homecoming Weekend, Minot State Volleyball will be back in action with their conference opener at home against Southwest Minnesota State University on Friday September 20 at 6:00 pm.
