MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team could not beat an opposing Mustangs offense Friday at home losing to Southwest Minnesota State in straight sets (10-25, 11-25, 21-25).
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 1-7 overall and 0-1 in NSIC play.
Paulina Kowalska finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Beavers attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .273. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Kelci Madrid had 15 and Maddy Boop had 10.

SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-10. Minot State trailed by as many as 15 points as Southwest Minnesota State grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was notted up three times before the Mustangs took control.
SET 2 | Minot State lost set two 25-11, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Beavers lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Minot State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-21. Southwest Minnesota State grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was knotted up six times before the Mustangs took over in the second half of the stanza.
