BILLINGS, MT --The Minot State volleyball team could not out-play an opposing Yellow Jackets offense Friday losing to Black Hills State in straight sets (16-25, 22-25, 22-25).
The non-conference loss moved Minot State to 0-2 on the season.
Paulina Kowalska finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Beavers attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .435. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Bailey Munson had 16 and Emily Barker had 12.

SET 2 | Minot State fell in set two 25-22, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. The Beavers fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured seven lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.
SET 3 | Minot State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-22. Black Hills State grabbed the advantage for good at 14-13 in a set that was knotted up six times before the Yellow Jackets took over in the second half of the stanza.
