MINOT, ND -- The Minot State women's basketball team got an 18-point showing from the bench but fell 93-40 to the No. 22-ranked Concordia, Saint Paul Golden Bears at home Friday in NSIC action.

Taury Hight led the Beavers (5-15 overall, 4-9 NSIC) with nine points and two steals. Jessica Mogen also added eight points and Taylor Goss chipped in as well with five points.

Coaches' Comments
"It's just a disappointing night for us," Minot State head coach Ryan Clark said. "I think the level of competition that we've set for ourselves, especially over the past month, ...the way we compete and battle, especially on defense, we didn't come out with that same fight tonight. And I'm the biggest one to blame for that because I should have done a better job getting ourselves ready to go."

How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 25-11 at the end of the first quarter.
The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 47-18 halftime deficit.
Concordia, Saint Paul continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 65-22 advantage before Minot State went on a 5-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Hight, to trim its deficit to 65-27 with 2:27 to go in the third.
Concordia, Saint Paul countered and stretched its lead to 74-31 heading into the fourth. Minot State knocked down two three-pointers in the quarter to score six of its 13 total points.
Minot State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 93-40. Minot State got a boost from its bench in the period, with non-starters scoring all nine points.
