Minot State volleyball hits the road this weekend for a pair of NSIC match ups. The Beavers open the trip on Friday, October 24th, when they take on Winona State in Winona, Minnesota with the first serve set for 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, October 25, Minot State heads to St. Paul to battle Concordia-St. Paul at 12 p.m.
It's another big weekend for the Beavers as they look to keep improving and pick up some momentum away from home before heading into the final stretch of the season.
When the Minot State Beavers and the Winona State Warriors met earlier this season, it was a true five-setter: Winona edged Minot 3-2 (25-17, 15-25, 25-19, 11-25, 3-15). On Minot's side,
Jasmin Bell chipped in 15 kills, and
Caton Pearcy had 17 digs to lead the back-row effort. Winona was paced by Abby Ongna with 13 kills, and Gianna Vollrath added 11 kills and 6 blocks.
In their recent meeting on Spetember 26th, Concordia-St. Paul swept Minot State in 3 sets ( 25-13, 25-20, 25-16). The Golden Bears' attack was led by Kaelyn Snoozy, who finished with 10 kills. Makenna Nold chipped in 9 kills. The team finished with 41 kills to Minot's 22. On Minot's side,
Caton Pearcy had 6 kills and
Jaina Macaulay added 8 assists.
With lessons learned from earlier match ups and momentum to build on, Minot State will look to obtain a win this weekend.
