Minot State volleyball returns home this weekend for a pair of NSIC match ups at the MSU Dome.  The Beavers open the weekend on Friday, October 31st, hosting the Minnesota State Mavericks at 6 p.m. for Staff Appreciation Night, celebrating the faculty and staff who support Minot State student-athletes on and off the court.  Then on Saturday, November 1, Minot State welcomes St. Cloud State for another NSIC contest, with the first serve set for 12 p.m.
When Minot State and Minnesota State met earlier this season in Mankato, the Mavericks earned a straight-sets win ( 25-17, 25-21, 25-12).  The Mavericks' attack was paced by Avery Rosenberg with 17 kills and Avery Klein adding 13.  The Beavers were led by
Katelyn Onespot-Danforth, who tallied nine kills, while
Logan Drennan anchored the defense with six digs.
Against St. Cloud State, the Beavers will aim to bounce back from their September match up in St. Cloud, where the Huskies came away with a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-16, 25-20).  St. Cloud's attack was fueled by Emery Thury, who recorded 10 kills, while Laurin Hamann led the defense with 13 digs.  For the Beavers,
Caton Pearcy led Minot State with eight kills, and
Jaina Macaulay added 11 digs.
With experience gained from their earlier match ups, Minot State will look to turn the tables and capture a win this weekend against two tough NSIC opponents.
