After falling behind 22-16, Minot State went on a 7-0 run with 5:03 left in the first half to take a 23-22 lead. East Central then responded to tie things up at 30-30 heading into halftime. Minot State got the job done in the paint in the first half, scoring 16 of its 30 points close to the basket.
East Central then snagged a 71-58 advantage before Minot State responded by going on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 71-63 with 41 seconds to go in the contest. East Central responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 78-67. Minot State made the most of six offensive rebounds to tack on six second chance points out of 37 total in the period.
