Softball back on the road to face the Marauders, Mavericks, and Mustangs

MINOT, N.D- After securing their first three victories of the season, the Beavers are back on the road with their eyes set on adding more wins to their record. This Wednesday, the team heads to Bismarck, where they'll face off against the University of Mary Marauders. The action continues on Saturday in Mankato, Minnesota, as the Beavers challenge the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mavericks. Then, on Sunday, they wrap up the weekend with a showdown against the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs.
 
After the past weekend of games against Wayne State College and the University of Sioux Falls, the softball team now has an overall record of 15-12 and a conference record of 3-1.
 
The Beavers' offence is led by a dynamic quartet of juniors: Anna LaCount, Paige Kellog, Sara Van Wickler, and Taylor Smith. LaCount has been a consistent force at the plate, boasting a .377 batting average, a .909 OPS, and an on-base percentage of .415. Kellog has been just as impressive, hitting .329 while leading the team with a .434 on-base percentage. Van Wickler, meanwhile, has been a power threat with a .324 batting average and an outstanding .981 OPS. Rounding out the group, Taylor Smith brings a solid .299 batting average, contributing to the Beavers' offensive depth.

The pitching staff is ready to continue their impressive run, with Reegan Floyd, Jasmine Blizzard, and Calley Olson leading the team after a dominant shut-out doubleheader performance against the University of Sioux Falls.

Floyd has been a powerhouse on the mound, boasting an 8-3 record and a 1.81 ERA over 73.1 innings. Blizzard has also shown her dominance, carrying a 5-5 record and a 1.66 ERA through 54.2 innings of work. Meanwhile, Olson has been an asset out of the bullpen, with a 1-1 record, 2 saves, and a 2.42 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched.

The University of Mary is now 9-10 overall and 2-2 in conference after splitting with both the University of Sioux Falls and Wayne State College this past weekend. The Marauders are led offensively by Chloe Robinson (.345 AVG), Janelle Bergmann (.339 AVG), and Sariah Perez (.307 AVG).
 
The Mauraders' pitching staff is anchored by Elyssa Verploegen and Arria Johnson. Verploegen currently has a 4-5 record with a 7.83 ERA over 54 innings pitched. Johnson has a 1-4 record and a 6.82 ERA over 31.2 innings pitched.
 
The Minnesota State University-Mankato is now 19-11 overall and 3-1 in conference after splitting with Northern State University and sweeping Minnesota State University- Moorhead this past weekend. The Mavericks are led offensively by Finley Anderson (.446 AVG), Gianna Lara (.337 AVG), and Izzy Hycnar (.324 AVG).

The Mavericks' pitching staff is led by a dynamic trio: Sailor Hall, Brianne Stone, and Maddie Oetzmann. Hall controls with a 7-4 record and a 1.83 ERA over 76.2 innings. Stone, with a 5-3 record and a 1.89 ERA in 33.1 innings, has proven to be a reliable force. Oetzmann rounds out the staff with a 3-3 record and a 2.04 ERA across 34.1 innings.

Southwest Minnesota State University is now 20-10 overall and 2-2 in conference after splitting with both the University of Minnesota- Crookston and Bemidji State University this past weekend. The Mustangs are led offensively by Brynn Webber (.364 AVG), Riley Kramolisch (.346 AVG), and Emma Humpal (.346 AVG).  

The Mustangs are led in the circle by Jordyn Marsh who has a 6-2 record and 2.77 ERA, while Karlie Miller has been consistent with an 8-4 record and 2.95 ERA. Morgyn Otte rounds out the staff with a 6-4 record and 3.00 ERA.

The Beavers will start their week with a matchup against the Marauders at 1pm on Wednesday. They will then face the Mavericks on Saturday at noon, followed by a contest against the Mustangs on Sunday at noon as well.
