Softball hits the road for last away weekend of conference play

MINOT, N.D- The Beavers, now 13-7 in conference, are set to take the field for their last away series of conference games this season. The Beavers will spend the weekend playing in Minnesota. On Friday, the Beavers will take on Bemidji State University and on Saturday, the Beavers will face the University of Minnesota Crookston.
 
Several standout performers have been showing out for the Beavers this season, both at the plate and in the field. Anna LaCount, one of the team's reliable catchers, has been a force in the batter's box, posting an impressive .394 batting average. Outfielder, Sara Van Wickler, continues to impress offensively with a .357 batting average. Taylor Smith, a starting shortstop, has consistently delivered at the plate, maintaining a strong .349 batting average. Freshman third baseman Sarah Misner is making her mark early in her career, boasting a .314 batting average and providing to be a valuable asset in the lineup.

The Beavers pitching staff is anchored by the reliable duo of Reegan Floyd and Jasmine Blizzard, who have set the tone on the mound all season. Reegan Floyd has been a workhorse, compiling a 13-6 record with a sharp 1.97 ERA across 128.0 innings pitched. Jasmine Blizzard has been dependable as well, holding a 10-7 record and a strong 2.11 ERA through 109.2 innings of work.

The last time Minot State faced Bemidji State, Minot came out on top twice in the doubleheader. Bemidji State, now 3-17 in conference play, is led offensively by Aimee Christenson (.339 BA), Mariah Stevenson (.329 BA), and Alexa Christenson (.304 BA). In the circle, Bemidji State leans on the trio of Kennedy Joachim, Payton Prissel, and Danica Sarff. Joachim holds a 10-9 record with a 3.18 ERA over 127.2 innings of work. Prissel (3-6) has a 4.78 ERA over 55.2 innings pitched. Sarff, now 1-8, holds a 6.50 ERA over 46.1 innings.
 
When the University of Minnesota Crookston and Minot State last faced off, Minot State took two against the Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles, currently 5-13 in conference play, are led at the plate by Hannah Trzinski (.333 BA), Chayse Doering (.290 BA), and Rayna French (.284 BA). In the circle, the Golden Eagles have a pitching staff of ten players but are led by Alexa Guilford and Delaney Penner. Guilford (5-2) has a 2.62 ERA over 50.2 innings pitched. Penner has a 6-6 record with a 2.65 ERA over 68.2 innings of work.
 
On Friday, Minot State and Bemidji State are set to throw the first pitch of the doubleheader at 1pm. On Saturday, the first pitch of game one against the University of Minnesota Crookston will be thrown at noon.
