DICKINSON, N.D. – Saturday was another eventful day in the track and field sector. The Beavers were in Dickinson for the Blue Hawk Games hosted by Dickinson State.
This meet marked the 3
rd of 5 straight meets in the North Dakota frontier. The Blue Hawk Games hosted numerous D2 and NAIA schools.
It was another successful day for
Summer Krebsbach,
Peyton Tuhy, and
Ramon Duran. Those three picked up individual wins for the Beavers.
Fresh off a record-breaking performance at the NDSU Spring Invite, Krebsbach tied her previous record in the women's 100-meter dash at 12.07 seconds. As they were just getting started in the track events,
Camryn Adams broke through in the women's 200 meters. She placed 3
rd with a time of 25.34 seconds.
Moving ahead to the women's 1500 meters,
Paulette Dominguez introduced herself to her fellow racers by launching all the way up to 2
nd place. Her final time was 5:02.20. Then in the women's 3000 steeplechase, there were 2 Minot State representatives in the top 3. Coming in at 2
nd was
Sidra Sadowsky with a time of 11:13.98. Right behind her was
Bailey Wride at 11:42.91.
In the men's bracket starting with the 1500 meters,
Peyton Tuhy outpaced everyone after recording a time of 4:03.24.
Ramon Duran also followed up his 1
st place finish last week with another one today. In the 400-meter hurdles, he clocked in at 53.28 seconds. Another Beaver hurdler finished top 5 as
Zaccharius Brown cleared just under 56 seconds at 55.99 in the same event.
Zander Grover got a time of 2:01.79 in the men's 800 meters, which is good for 5
th.
Devan Daniels competed in the 200 meters and came away with a 4
th place result at 22.03 seconds.
The men's 4 x 100 relay with
Deuce Carr,
Devan Daniels,
Zaccharius Brown, and
Ben Holte finished 3
rd at 42.54 seconds.
Over in the field events,
Dallas Reese and
Evan Hartt put in a good effort and came away with nice finishes in the men's shot put and discus.
Reese was 3
rd in the shot put at 15.34m (50 feet and 4 inches). Hartt threw for 45.6m (149 feet and 7 inches) which clinched 2
nd place.
The Beavers will return to Fargo for the Bison Open in a meet spread out over 2 days. It all starts April 24 at noon.
