BISMARCK, N.D. – The rain-delay UMary Tune Up wrapped up Thursday with the Minot State track and field teams adding one more win and a couple of career-best performances in the delayed field events.
Afton Wride led the way for the Beavers as she won the women's long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 5 inches, besting teammate
Kaydee Boyce by two inches. Boyce turned in one of those career-best performances with a distance of 16 feet, 3 inches.
On the men's side,
James Smith added a career-best effort in the men's long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 0.5 inches, finishing 2
nd at the meet, while
Dallas Reese added a 2
nd-place finish in the men's shot put with and outdoor career-best throw of 51 feet, 3 inches.
The Minot State track and field teams next head to the NSIC Outdoor Championships next weekend hosted by Minnesota Duluth.
