MINOT, N.D. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) handed out academic honors to student-athletes and teams today, and the Beaver track and field programs both were recognized.
The Minot State women's track and field team was honored as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team while Beaver two-sport student-athlete
Evan Hartt was honored from the men's team as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.
The honor is the first for Hartt, who finished his first season as a thrower for the Beavers this spring and who also plays football. The award is the 11
th time the Minot State women's track and field program has earned the honor in the program's NCAA Division II-era.
To earn All-Academic Team honors from the USTFCCCA, a program must maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.0, or higher, for the entire 2024-25 academic year. The Minot State women's track and field team boasted a 3.059 team GPA for the past academic year.
To be named an USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, or higher, for the entire academic year and also finish in the top 50 in the nation in their event in the TFRRS standings.
A freshman Chemistry major from Everett, Washington, Hartt hit an NCAA national qualifying mark in the discus at the NSIC Outdoor Championships with a throw of 168 feet, 10 inches, good for 4th in the NSIC, 45th-best in the nation, and a Minot State all-time school record.
