MARSHALL, MN --Darik Dissette, Deuce Benjamin, and Isaiah Alexander combined to score 45 of Minot State's 60 total points, but the Beavers fell to the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs 72-60 on the road Friday.
Dissette led the Beavers (8-9, 5-6) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Benjamin tacked on 17 points and two steals and Alexander chipped in as well with 10 points.
Dissette pulled down three offensive rebounds to pace the Minot State offense which grabbed 12 boards and turned them into nine second chance points.
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 39-16 heading into halftime.
Minot State narrowed its deficit to 47-29 before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Alexander's layup, to shrink the deficit to 47-37 with 13:05 to go in the contest. Southwest Minnesota State responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 72-60. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 22 of its 44 points in the lane.
