MINOT, ND --Carson Yale collected a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, but the Minot State men's basketball team fell to the Wayne State Wildcats 85-77 at home Saturday.
In addition to Yale's double-double, the Beavers (8-12, 5-9) were led by Isaiah Alexander, who put up 14 points and four assists, and by Deuce Benjamin, who added 17 points and two steals.
How It Happened
After playing to a 20-20 tie, Minot State went on a 7-0 run with 7:16 left in the first half to take a 27-20 lead. The Beavers then added two points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 38-29 advantage. Minot State did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 20 of its 38 points close to the basket.
Wayne State then erased the Minot State lead in the game's final quarter for an 85-77 comeback victory.
