BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Minot State men's track and field team took center-stage on Saturday at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic with a pair of school-record performances.
A day after
Summer Krebsbach led the way with a school record in the 200 meters for the Beaver women,
Peyton Tuhy broke an all-time school record in the 1,000 meters, and
Justin Williams broke the NCAA Division II-era school record in the 200 meters at the meet hosted by the Jackrabbits.
Finishing 6
th in the men's 1,000 meters in 2 minutes, 30.15 seconds, Tuhy broke the 24-year-old school record of 2:30.58 run by Brad Tighe in 2001, and smashed the NCAA Division II-era record set by Jacob Jensen of 3:31.84 run in 2024.
Tuhy also moved to No. 2 in the event in the current NSIC standings.
Meanwhile, in the 200 meters, Williams finished 15th on Saturday in 22.28, breaking the record of 22.37 run by
Zaccharius Brown last season.
While they led the way, the Minot State men's 4x400-meter relay team also turned in a strong season-best performance as Williams,
Alex Roberts,
Jacob Jackson, and Tuhy teamed up to finish 21st on Saturday in 3:26.49, moving them to No. 8 in the current NSIC rankings.
Minot State's track and field teams now head to the final regular-season meet of the indoor season, competing next Saturday at the Marauders Tune-Up hosted by the University of Mary.
The Beavers then wrap up the indoor season at the NSIC Championships hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato, at the end of the month.
