JAMESTOWN, ND --Deuce Benjamin knocked down a buzzer-beating shot with only three seconds left in the game to lead the Minot State men's basketball team past the Jamestown Jimmies 85-84 on the road Thursday.
The Beavers (12-15, 9-12) had seven players score in double figures, led by Kiku Parker Jr., who had 15 points and five assists. Darik Dissette added 14 points and Drew Kempel helped out with 11 points from the bench.
The Minot State offense made hay from downtown, pouring in 12 threes on 16 attempts.
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 46-36 heading into halftime.
Jamestown kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 57-42 advantage before Minot State went on a 12-0 run, finished off by Dissette's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 57-54 with 12:56 to go in the contest. The Beavers kept the rally going and took the lead for good on Benjamin's layup with 00:03 left for an 85-84 comeback victory. Minot State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting seven shots from deep to score 21 of its 49 points.

Head Coach Randall Herbst, after the strong Beaver win, said, "So happy for the guys!", he said, "Great team win on the road! Seven guys in double figures, shot an unbelievable 86% in the second half. Made 12 threes. Different guys at different times making plays. On to the next one."
