MINOT, N.D. - Three days after posting a 4-0 win over Bismarck State, the Minot State softball team will return home to the MSU Bubble to host the Mystics in a pair of non-conference games Wednesday night.
First pitch in the doubleheader is scheduled for 5 p.m.
It's been nearly a month since the Beavers (6-2 overall) played at home, during that time they got in four contests at Jamestown, including the victory on Saturday over the Mystics (1-9).
In the first meeting, Kierra Fournier dominated in the circle, striking out 7 in the 3-hit shutout.
Offensively, Anna LaCount had a 2-run home run for the Beavers, while Sara Van Wickler and Micaela Resler added a hit and an RBI each.
Van Wickler has been an offensive key for the Beavers, going 11-for-25, but most importantly getting on base time and time again as she leads Minot State having scored 13 runs.
Equally impactful has been Paige Kellogg who leads the team hitting .455 (10-for-22), while LaCount, Van Wickler, and Sarah Misner each have 6 RBIs, which leads the team.
Following Wednesday's twinbill, the Beavers head back to Jamestown to take on the Jimmies for the first time this season in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday night.
The Jimmies are off to a hot start with a 9-2 record that includes non-conference wins over NSIC foes Mary and Northern State.
The Jimmies are slugging away with a .372 team batting average and have plated 71 runs so far this spring.
A ton of support for a pitching staff with a 2.73 ERA, as Jamestown has outscored foes 71-31, making Thursday's doubleheader a big test for Minot State.
