MINOT, N.D. – A stellar start to the season that included a complete-game victory in the circle earned Minot State sophomore pitcher
Sarah Misner the first NSIC Pitcher of the Week honor for the spring 2026 season.
Misner, a right-handed pitcher and third baseman for the Beavers from Mesa, Arizona, picked up two wins over the weekend as Minot State hosted its annual Bubble Invitational.
Pitching two scoreless innings of relief, Misner earned her first win Friday in a 12-10 victory over visiting Montana State Billings.
Saturday, in a 4-3 victory over visiting Black Hills State, Misner struck out 6 opposing batters and did not allow an earned run in the complete-game victory, her second of the season.
Along with picking up a pair of wins, Misner went 2-for-6 (.333) at the plate with a home run and 4 RBIs for the Beavers, starting two games at third base. She added 1 putout and 6 assists without an error, defensively.
Misner and the Minot State softball team (3-1 overall) are off until February 20 and 21, when they return to action at the Jamestown tournament, playing Dakota Wesleyan, Dickinson State, Bismarck State, and Concordia College on the road in Jamestown, North Dakota.
