AZUSA, Calif. - Senior
Peyton Tuhy led the way for the Minot State track and field teams on Friday in California, turning in a career-best effort in the 800 meters that vaulted him to No. 2 in the NSIC standings.
Tuhy finished in 1 minute, 53.25 seconds in the 800 at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific, placing 43
rd in the event. His time ranks No. 2 in the NSIC this season, and also ranks No. 2 fastest in Minot State's NCAA Division II era.
While Tuhy led the way for the Minot State men,
Bailey Wride also had a strong showing in the women's 800 meters as she finished in 2:15.53, which ranks No. 5 in the NSIC this season. Wride was 65
th in the event at the Bryan Clay meet.
While they led the way at the Bryan Clay Invitational, the several Beavers also turned in strong showings at the Leopard Invitational hosted by the University of La Verne, where the Minot State men's 4x100-meter relay claimed victory. The Beavers won with a time of 42.91 seconds.
Ben Holte also added a 3
rd-place performance in the men's 100 meters as he clocked a time of 11.19 in the finals on Friday, and
Jacob Jackson finished 9th in the men's 400 meters in 51.00 seconds on Friday.
Minot State wraps up its weekend in California, competing in the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational.
