SMITHVILLE, Mo. - Freshman
Kasen Rostad led the way Saturday for the Minot State men's golf team, shooting a 1-over 73 to climb the leaderboard and pace the Beavers, who are 9th after two rounds at the NSIC Men's Golf Championship.
Rostad moved into a tie for 16th at 6-over 150 (77-73), while the Beavers turned in a team score of 20-over 308 on Saturday and have a 36-hole total of 42-over 618 (310-308).
The final round of the Championship is Sunday at the Paradise Pointe Golf Club in Smithville, Missouri.
While Rostad led the way,
Zach Hendrickson shot a 5-over 77 on Saturday and moved into a tie for 24th for the Beavers, at 8-over 152 (75-77), while teammates
Gunther Soltvedt and
Max Karnik find themselves tied for 37th at 14-over 158 as Soltvedt (81-77) shot a 5-over 77 on Saturday and Karnik (77-81) turned in a 9-over 81.
Gage Olson rounded out the Beavers' scores as he shot a 10-over 82 on Saturday and is 48th at 24-over 168 (86-82).
Winona State leads the way in the team race as the Warriors leapfrogged Concordia-St. Paul. The Warriors shot a 3-over 291 and hold a five-shot lead over the Golden Bears at 9-over 585.
Winona State's Max Jericho leads the individual standings by three shots over Bemidji State's LaPlante, as Jericho sits at 4-under 140 for the tournament after back-to-back 70s.
