THIS WEEK: Minot State is on the road for the final time in Dakota Athletic Conference play as MSU plays at Mayville State Friday (5:30 p.m.) and Dakota State Saturday (4 p.m.).
RECORDS: MSU is 14-6 overall and 5-4 in Dakota Athletic Conference play. Mayville comes in at 4-13 and 2-6, while Dakota State is the last place DAC team with a 5-15 overall record and 1-7 in conference play.
COACHES CORNER: Minot State's
Sheila Green Gerding is in her 16th season at the helm of the Beavers. She has a record of 282 wins, 182 losses all at Minot State. Mayville's Dennis Hutter is 59-102 in overall in during five seasons with the Comets. DaSU Joe Reints is in his third season with the Trojans going 23-54 so far. He is 92-87 overall in his career.

RANKINGS: MSU did not climb back into the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches Poll this week, instead is in the receiving votes category. Neither Mayville nor Dakota is ranked.
RECENT HISTORY: Minot State swept No. 21 Jamestown College and Valley City State (receiving votes) in a pair of games last week in conference play. Mayville State won two games last week, taking out travel partner Dakota State 80-75 at Madison, S.D., and beating up on Trinity Bible College 99-59 at home. DaSU lost twice, falling to MaSU and 66-61 to AIB College of Business (Iowa).
OVERALL SERIES: The Beavers have a 40-32 lead over Mayville all time including a seven-game winning streak. MSU has a five-game winning streak on the line against Dakota State and is 9-15 overall.
NOTING THE COMETS: Mayville State's Hailey Longtin continues to lead the country in 3-point field goals made per game, knocking down 3.7 per outing. She is sixth in NAIA Division II in total made 3-pointers with 63 and is making 37.5 percent shot… The Comets only have four wins all season, but with their 99-59 win over Trinity Bible, MaSU now has two two-game winning streaks. Dakota State figures into both as the Comets swept the season series from their travel partner… MaSU is averaging 71.2 points per game, good for fifth in the league, but are last in the DAC in scoring defense at 81.9.
NOTING THE TROJANS: Dakota State's leading scorer Kylie Westover (9.85 ppg.) is ranked in the NAIA in both 3-pointers made per game at 2.3 and total 3s made at 46… The Trojans are 13t h in NAIA Division II, hitting an average of eight 3s a game… The Lady Ts have fallen on hard times as they have lost five straight, 9 of their last 10 and 12 of their last 14… DaSU has made nearly 60 more 3-pointers than its opponents, but has taken just over 200 more shots from beyond the arc than opponents. Of the 1,240 shots taken by the Trojans, 568 have been 3s.
DOME SWEET DOME: Minot State earned two more wins at the MSU Dome last week to remain perfect in the friendly confines. The Beavers are 63-18 at home over the past six seasons, including an 11-1 mark in 2006-07. After this weekend, MSU plays its final six regular season games at home.
STRETCH RUN: Minot State's
Caroline Folven's (Sr., C, Byron, Ill.) is just five points from becoming the school's 10th player to reach 1,000 career points. Folven has averaged 9.0 points over 110 career games and is currently the Beavers leading scorer at 11.3 points per game. She also needs just 36 more rebounds to hit 500 in her career.
CASHING IN ON THE FREE ONES: Minot State's
Sacarra Molina (So., G, Hinsdale, Mont.) is hitting 81.5 percent of her free throws on the season, good for 27th in the country. Molina helped the Beavers to a 75.3 percent free throw shooting average as a team, good for 11th in NAIA Division II. Of the 10 Beavers who have taken at least 10 free throws on the season, nine are hitting better than 70 percent and
Caroline Folven, 83.7 percent,
Whitney Loftesnes (Sr., G, Velva, N.D.), 81.8 percent and
