On Thursday, January 12, the Beavers travel to the University of Regina for an exhibition dual before heading to the University of Jamestown on Sunday, January 15. The duals are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

COACHES CORNER: Minot State head coach Evan Forde is in his second season at the helm of the wrestling team. He is the eighth coach in MSU history and the second coach since the reinstatement of the team and the move to NCAA Division II. Forde is 6-20 overall in his career. Leo McGee has been the head coach at Regina since the 1985-86 season. He has led his team to two national titles and 10 Canada West championships. Dan Lovell is in his second season as the head coach at Jamestown. Lovell led the Jimmies to a 3-12 record in his first season.

RANKINGS: Neither Minot State nor any of its opponents were ranked in the most recent polls.

ALL-TIME AT A GLANCE: The Beavers are 3-1 against Jamestown since the 2010-11 season and have yet to compete in a non-exhibition match against Regina.

LAST TIME OUT: Minot State won both of its latest duals against Regina and Jamestown in the 2014-15 season. The Beavers defeated the Cougars 46-6, lost just two individual match ups. MSU won against Jamestown 35-15, losing three match ups. Cody Haugen, 149, won both of his matches at these duals two years ago.

NOTING THE COUGARS: Despite only having competed in just one dual this season, the Cougars have wrestled in four tournaments, most recently at the Golden Bear Open at the University of Alberta. Regina had five athletes place sixth or higher, including Devin Procyk,184, who placed third at the event.

NOTING THE JIMMIES: Jamestown has also only competed in just one dual this season and four tournaments. In its dual against Mary, Jamestown won at the weight classes of 149 and 197 with Brandon Aragon and William Parks. The Beavers also won at the 149 class in its most recent competition against the Marauders, but lost at 197.

THREE DOZEN: Three MSU wrestlers are tied in leading the team in wins this season with 12 victories each. Carlos Toledano (174), 12-5, boasts the best record for the Beavers this season winning over 70 percent of his matches. He also leads the team in takedowns with 22. HISTORY AT JAMESTOWN: Since 2010, Minot State and Jamestown have competed against each other in tournaments or duals six times, five of those at Jamestown where MSU has seen a lot of success.. The lone home competition the Beavers hosted was a dual they won in the 2011-12 season. The Jimmies have won just one dual in that time in the 2010-11 season. In that same year the Beavers saw success in Jamestown with Robert Hererra winning the Jamestown Open at the 125 class with four others placing.
