MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State men's basketball team will open the home portion of the 2017-18 schedule against Mayville State on Tuesday (Nov. 14) at 7 p.m. in the Minot State Dome.

The Beavers are coming off an impressive opening weekend that saw them post a pair of double-digit victories. Minot State opened the season with an 84-70 victory over Southern Arkansas and then followed that up with a 78-50 win over Henderson State in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Great American Conference Challenge in Lancaster, Texas.

In the 84-70 win over Southern Arkansas, the Beavers featured a balanced scoring attack that saw six players reach double figures in scoring. Trevor Rothstein led the way for Minot State with a career-high 20 points, while David Akibo scored 15 points and Nathaniel Moore finished with 12 points. Luis Ricci Maia and Russ Davis each scored 11 points and Tyler Rudolph rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points.

Rudolph, who was named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week on Monday, exploded for a career-high 37 points in the Beavers victory over Henderson State. Rudolph was 14-of-20 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the free throw line to lead the Beavers to the 28-point win.
