MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State men's basketball team is spending the Halloween weekend in Hawaii and wants Beavers fans to join the team in the trip to "The Islands."

Minot State opens its season at the Hawaii Tip-Off Classic, October 30 through November 1, and the Beavers recently found out their first-round opponent will be the Adelphi (N.Y.) University Panthers.

The Panthers finished the 2025-26 season with an 18-12 record, advanced to the national tournament, and rose as high as No. 22 during the season in the NABC national poll. Minot State and Adelphi open the season on Friday, October 30, in the quarterfinals of the 8-team, traditional-format bracket tournament in Hawaii.

Other teams in the Hawaii Tip-Off Classic include co-hosts Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific, NSIC foe Winona State, Lake Erie College (Ohio), Saint Edwards (Texas), and the University of Tampa (Fla.).

Beaver fans are encouraged to be part of the fun-filled action in Hawaii and cheer on Minot State as the tournament is offering special rates and packages for Beaver boosters and fans. Book with Sports Travel Hawaii to receive admission to all Tip-Off Classic games, tickets to the Welcome Dinner/Luau on October 29, and a tournament t-shirt.
