MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State men's basketball team will seek to continue its hot start to the season as the Beavers welcome Dickinson State into the Minot State Dome on Thursday (Nov. 16) for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
The Beavers improved to 3-0 on the season with a 91-46 victory over Mayville State in the Dome on Tuesday. Senior
Tyler Rudolph continued his brilliant early-season play as he scored a career-high 40 points on 15-of-17 shooting from the field. It marked the second consecutive game in which Rudolph has notched a new career high in points. On Nov. 11, Rudolph scored a then career-high 37 points in the Beavers victory over Henderson State and followed that up on Tuesday with his 40-point effort.
Minot State has been dominating in its three victories this season as the Beavers have trailed for only 3:13 out of the 120 minutes played on the season thus far. The Beavers have yet to trail in the second half this season and its average margin of victory is 29.0 points a game.
Rudolph, who was named the NSICÂ North Division Player of the Week on Monday, leads Minot State averaging 29.0 points per game. The senior is shooting 64.0 percent from the field, 56.3 percent from the three-point line and 93.3 percent from the free throw line.
David Akibo and Russ Davis are tied for second on the team averaging 9.7 points per game and Nathaniel Moore is scoring at 9.3 points per contest.
Rudolph also tops the team in rebounding averaging 8.3 per game, while Akibo pulls down 7.0 rebounds per game.
Dickinson State will enter the game with a 4-3 overall record. The Beavers lead the all-time series between the two squads 48-33.
