MINOT, N.D. -- Senior Carlos Toledano recorded a fall victory, but No. 9 Upper Iowa won four of the final five matches of the dual on its way to a 34-12 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory over Minot State on Sunday in the Minot State Dome.

Toledano, wrestling at 165 pounds, took an  8-3 lead over Cody Nelson after the opening period which included a four-point near fall early in the match. Nelson opened the second period with a two-point near fall, but Toledano recovered with a reversal and then pinned Nelson.

With the victory, Toledano improved to 5-4 on the season and posted his second fall win of the year. He also raised his record to 3-0 against NSIC opponents this season.

Minot State, which dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in conference, also received victories from Keegan Berry at 184 pounds and Mitchell Eull at 285 pounds. Berry and Eull both won in overtime as Berry defeated Jamie Gehling 3-1 in extra time and Eull posted a 5-3 win over Triston Westerlund.

Berry improved to 7-8 on the season with the win, while Eull raised his team-leading record to 14-2 on the season.

The victory by Berry brought Minot State to within 14-9, but Nick Baumler posted a 6-2 win over Briley Crissler to increase the lead to 17-9. Eull got the Beavers to within 17-12 with his win, but Maleek Williams, Josh Walker and Hunter Slifka all posted victories for the Peacocks to close out the dual.

Minot State will return to action on Jan. 12 when it travels to Dickinson State for a dual match.
