Box Score HAVRE, Mont. -- Mariah Payne scored 14 points and Madison Wald added 12 points and Minot State used a big third quarter to defeat Montana State-Northern 55-45 in the Beavers season opener on Sunday in Armory Gymnasium.

• Minot State outscored the Skylights 15-12, but the Montana State-Northern held a 26-24 lead at halftime
• The Beavers took control of the game by outscoring Montana State-Northern 17-6 in the third quarter
• Minot State finished the game by outscoring the Skylights 14-13 in the fourth quarter
