MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State women's basketball team opens the home portion of its 2018-19 schedule with a pair of non-conference games against Yellowstone Christian and Dickinson State in the Minot State Dome. The Beavers host Yellowstone Christian on Tuesday (Nov. 13) at 5:30 p.m. and face Dickinson State on Wednesday (Nov. 14) with a tip time of 5:30 p.m.

The Beavers kicked off their season with a 55-45 road win at Montana State-Northern on Sunday. Minot State got 14 points from Mariah Payne and 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists from Madison Wald. Anna Counts added seven rebounds, five blocked shots and four points for Minot State.

Minot State trailed 14-9 after the opening quarter, but outscored the Skylights 46-31 for the remainder of the game. The Beavers took control of the contest by outscoring Montana State-Northern 17-6 in the third quarter. Minot State shot 41.8 percent from the floor for the game, including 56.5 percent in the second half.

This will mark the second consecutive season in which the Beavers have faced Yellowstone Christian after defeating the Centurions 80-25 last season in the MSU Dome.

Minot State also defeated Dickinson State last season as the Beavers emerged victorious with a 69-43 win. The Beavers also defeated the Blue Hawks 86-53 in an exhibition game earlier this year at 4 Bears Casino & Lodge.
