MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State women's basketball team will host Valley City State on Tuesday (Nov. 27) at 5:30 p.m. in the Minot State Dome in the Beavers final non-conference game of the season.
Following the game on Tuesday, Minot State will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play at Mary on Saturday (Dec. 1).
Minot State enters the game against the Vikings with a 4-1 overall record and rebounded nicely after suffering its first loss of the season to Chaminade. The Beavers fell to Chaminade on a last-second three-pointer, but bounced back to defeat Northwestern Oklahoma State 91-74.
Kari Clements scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Beavers, while
Mariah Payne added 17 points.
Calli Delsman had an outstanding all-around game as she scored 15 points, handed out eight assists and recorded five rebounds. The Beavers shot 50.7 percent from the floor, which marked the first time this season they topped 50 percent shooting in a game.
Payne is one of three Minot State players averaging in double figures as she leads the Beavers with a 14.8 points per game average.
Madison Wald ranks second on the team averaging 14.6 points, while Clements is third on the team averaging 12.4 per contest.
Haley Hildenbrand leads Minot State averaging 5.6 rebounds per game, while
Anna Counts in second on the team averaging 5.0 boards per contest. Counts leads the Beavers with 13 blocked shots on the season.
Valley City State is 3-5 overall on the season and defeated Minot State 67-66 in an exhibition game earlier this season in Valley City, N.D.
