MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State women's basketball team will host Mary on Sunday (Dec. 30) at 2 p.m. in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game in the Minot State Dome as the Beavers close out 2018.
Minot State enters Sunday's game with a 5-6 overall record and an 0-5 mark in the NSIC. The Beavers will be seeking to bring an end to a five-game losing streak, but have posted a 4-2 record in the MSU Dome this year.
Mary defeated Minot State 64-58 on Dec. 1 in Bismarck, N.D. behind 18 points from Coral Gillette and 15 points and 10 rebounds from Gabbie Bohl.
Kari Clements led Minot State with 18 points in the first meeting between the two teams, while
Haley Hildenbrand had 12 points and
Madison Wald finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Wald currently leads the Beavers averaging 14.0 points per contest, while also tying for the team lead averaging 4.2 rebounds per game. She also leads Minot State shooting 82.4 percent from the free throw line and ranks second on the team averaging 3.00 assists per game.
Clements is second on the team averaging 13.4 points per game and is tied with Wald for the team lead averaging 4.2 rebounds per game. Clements has reached double figures in scoring in eight games this season with a high of 21 points against both Northwestern Oklahoma State and Valley City State.
Mariah Payne also averages in double figures for the Beavers at 11.1 points per game and leads the team averaging 4.20 assists per contest. She has six double-figure scoring games on the year including a 17-point, 10-assist effort against Chaminade.
Hildenbrand tops the team shooting 58.8 percent from the floor and is averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
