MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State wrestling team will open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference portion of its schedule this week as it faces nationally-ranked St. Cloud State and Upper Iowa on the road. The Beavers will meet top-ranked St. Cloud State on Wednesday (Dec. 5) and then meet fifth-ranked Upper Iowa on Thursday (Dec. 6).
The Beavers enter the week with an 0-1 overall record after having competed in four open tournaments and one dual during the early part of the schedule.
Oscar Nellis,
Tanner Crissler,
Shadi Mitwalli and
Zach Berry have led the Beavers. Nellis tops the team with 14 wins, while Crissler and Mitwalli each have 12 victories on the season.
Zach Berry also is in double figures in wins with 10.
Crissler leads the team with five fall victories, while Nellis ranks second on the team with four fall wins.
Marco Antonio Ramirezlazos and
Jake Belland are tied for third on the team in falls with three.
St. Cloud State enters the dual as the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II and the Huskies are undefeated at 6-0 on the season.
Upper Iowa, which is ranked fifth nationally, is 1-0 on the season and the Peacocks have competed in four open tournaments.
