Beavers Wrap Up Regular Season With Final Homestand

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's basketball team wraps up the 2017-18 regular season this weekend, as the Beaver play their final two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games of the regular season in the Minot State Dome.

The Beavers will face Minnesota Crookston on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. before hosting Bemidji State on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m.

Saturday's game against Bemidji State is also Senior Day, as Holly Johnson, Diondra Denton and Kristal Flowers play their final regular season home game in the Minot State Dome.

Minot State is 10-10 in NSIC play after snapping their seven-game win streak with two road losses last weekend. The Beavers fell 70-61 at Minnesota Duluth before dropping a 70-61 decision at St. Cloud State.

Minot State is 10-1 on the season when scoring 70 or more points, including 3-0 when surpassing the 80-point mark.

Johnson leads the Beavers in scoring with 16.4 points per game while grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game.

Flowers has posted seven double-doubles this season and averages 10.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Madison Wald is scoring 10.0 points per game, followed by Denton and Mariah Payne with 8.5 and 8.1 points per game, respectively.

Payne leads the team with 75 assists and Denton has posted a team-high 30 steals while Flowers leads with 10 blocks.

Scouting the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles

Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with a 6-18 (6-14 NSIC) record on the season. Isieoma Odor paces the Golden Eagles with 13.8 points per game, followed by Micaela Noga and Caitlin Michaelis with 12.7 and 10.8 points per game, respectively. Odor grabs a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game while ranking fourth in the NSIC with 46 blocks.

The Golden Eagles are scoring 63.5 points per game while shooting 39.2 percent from the field and 79.5 percent from the free throw line. Minnesota Crookston is grabbing 33.3 rebounds per game while forcing opponents into 12 turnovers per game. Opponents are scoring 69.7 points per game and shooting 41.7 percent from the floor against the Golden Eagles.

Head coach Mike Roysland is in his 12th season leading the Golden Eagle program and owns a career record of 111-214.

Minot State vs. Minnesota Crookston

Minot State leads the all-time series with Minnesota Crookston, 15-7. Minot State won 77-67 in their previous meeting this season in Crookston, Minn. on Jan. 20, 2018.

Scouting the Bemidji State Beavers

Bemidji State comes into weekend with a 4-20 (3-17 NSIC) record on the season. Brooklyn Bachmann is the lone Beaver scoring in double-figures while averaging 12.9 points per game on 37.1 percent shooting from the field. Sierra Senske is scoring 8.5 points per game and Sydney Arrington is adding 6.9 points per game.

The Beaver offense is scoring 55.1 points per game on 34.9 percent shooting from the field and 69.1 percent shooting from the free throw line. Bemidji State averages 10.5 assists per game and collects 5.0 steals per game on the defensive end. Opponents are shooting 40 percent from the field and scoring 69.2 points per game against the Beavers.

Head coach Chelsea DeVille is 18-60 in three seasons as the head coach at Bemidji State.

Minot State vs. Bemidji State

Saturday's game marks the 18th overall meeting with Bemidji State and Minot State with Minot State leading the all-time series, 11-6. In their previous meeting this season, Minot State defeated Bemidji State 81-90 on the road in Bemidji, Minn. on Jan. 19, 2018.
