Beavers to Face Huskies and Bulldogs in Weekend Road Games

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's basketball team will return to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this weekend with a pair of road games. The Beavers will face St. Cloud State on Friday (Jan. 11) at 5:30 p.m. and then meet Minnesota Duluth on Saturday (Jan. 12) at 3:30 p.m.  

Minot State, which is 6-8 overall and 1-7 in conference play, will be coming off a split last weekend with a win over Minnesota State and loss to Concordia-St. Paul. Minot State defeated Minnesota State 93-87 in overtime and Concordia-St. Paul edged the Beavers 58-46. Kari Clements led the Beavers over the weekend with a Career-High game with 34 points against Minnesota State, while Madison Wald scored 23 points. In the loss to Concordia-St. Paul, Mariah Payne scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds and Calli Delsman had 10 points.  

Wald is currently first on the team averaging 14.3 points per contest and leads the team averaging 4.4 rebounds per game. Wald has reached double figures in scoring in 11 games, which included a 21-point game against University of Mary. 

Clements, who has reached double figures scoring 10 times this season, is averaging 13.9 points per game, and is second on the team is scoring. She also tops the team with 30 steals and leads the team in minutes played, averaging 32.6 minutes per game.  

Payne leads Minot State with 54 assists and is third on the team averaging 11.1 points per game. She also is averaging 4.0 rebounds per game and has reached double figures in scoring nine times. 
 
Haley Hildenbrand ranks fourth on the team averaging 6.6 points per game and third on the team averaging 4.0 rebounds per game and leads the squad shooting 58.2 percent from the floor. 

Calli Delsman (5.7 ppg), Whitney Molina (3.4 ppg), Anna Counts (3.1 ppg) and Gabby Wilkinson (3.0 ppg) have each played in all 14 games on the season. 

St. Cloud State is 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the NSIC, while Minnesota Duluth is 6-2 in the NSIC and a 7-4 overall record.
