MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State women's basketball team are back in the Dome this weekend to grab a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game wins against Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota Crookston. The Beavers will battle the Beavers on Friday (Jan. 25) at 5:30 p.m. and then face the Golden Eagles on Saturday (Jan. 26) at 3:30 p.m.
Minot State, which is overall and 2-10 in conference play, went one and one against Southwest Minnesota State University and the University of Sioux Falls. The Beavers beat the Mustangs 72-66 in overtime and lost to the Cougars 54-59.
Last weekend, Kari Clements scored her 1,000th career point against Southwest Minnesota State and reached double figures for the sixth consecutive game with 18 points.
Madison Wald had 20 points against SMSU and Mariah Payne posted 6-of-15 from the floor for 15 points. Madison Wald is leading your Beavers in scoring with 14.1 points per game and 254 points on the season. Kari Clements is second on the team with 13.8 points per game and leads the Beavers with 39 steals. Mariah Payne rounds out the leading scorers with a double figure average per game of 11.8. Haley Hildenbrand (6.9 ppg) and Calli Delsman (5.6 ppg) have seen action in 18 games this season.
Bemidji State University is 2-10 in NSIC and has a 4-12 overall record. Minnesota Crookston is 10-8 overall and 5-7 in conference play.
