MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State men's basketball team are finishing their four game homestand in the Dome this weekend with another pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games against Augustana University and Wayne State College. The Beavers will battle the Vikings on Friday (Feb. 1) at 7:30 p.m. and then face the Wildcats on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 5:30 p.m.

Minot State, which is 9-14 overall and 4-10 in conference play, went one and one against Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota Crookston last weekend. The Beavers fell to the Bemidji Beavers 82-93 but rallied on Saturday to post a win against the Golden Eagles 92-61.

Akibo currently leads the Beavers in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 19.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

Kyle Beisch and Max Cody are also averaging double figures per game. Beisch at 13.8 points per game is also leading the Beavers in 3-pointers with 47 on the season. Cody with 12.9 points per game is leading the Beavers in assists (141) and steals (31).
Aleksa Cucovic is currently leading the Beavers in 3-point shooting percentage with 42.1 percent, hitting 4 for 5 from the floor, including three 3-pointers in 20 minutes off the bench in the Crookston matchup over the weekend.

Dorian Aluyi (9.7 ppg and 5.1 rpg), Drake Jeffries (5.9 ppg) and Kody Dwyer (5.9 ppg) are also helping put numbers on the board for the Beavers.  

Augustana University is 9-5 in NSIC play and has a 13-7 overall record. Wayne State College is 15-5 overall and 10-4 in conference play.
