(MINOT, N.D.) – The Minot State Beaver wrestling team will look to snap their two-dual losing streak this Friday evening when they host the Northern State Wolves.
This weekend's dual is the final home contest for the Beavers and will feature a brief ceremony prior to the first match recognizing three seniors:
Dean Arevalo,
Zach Berry, and
Parker Osterman.
Northern State is currently sixth in the NSIC with a 1-4 record in league duals and a 7-6 mark overall.
Minot State has yet to win an NSIC dual this season and are 4-5 overall.
Each team boasts a handful of nationally-ranked grapplers. For the Wolves, Caden Moore is 10th at 149 pounds, James Burks is fifth at 157 pounds, and Marcus Placide is 11
th at 184 pounds. For the Beavers,
Dean Arevalo is currently sixth at 125 pounds while heavyweight
Jordan Will is eighth.
Northern State and Minot State were tied at 23
rd in the most recent publication of the NCAA Division II Team rankings. The dual will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31.
