JAMESTOWN, N.D.- The MSU Men's Wrestling team took to the mat for their first regular season match at the Jimmie Open Saturday. The Beavers had themselves a champion in the process as junior
Shadi Mitwalli won the bracket in the 149 pound weight class. Mitwalli defeated
Kyle Boeke of Augustana (S.D.) 7-0 to secure the championship. Enroute to the championship Mitwalli also defeated
Tommy Klemesrud of Dakota Wesleyan with a fall at the 2:33 mark, followed by a 5-1 win over freshman teammate

In the 125 weight class MSU almost had another champion. Junior

Jared Engel of Wayne State (Neb.), which he followed up by taking out
Teagan Block of Northern State 3-1 to reach the championship.
The Beavers also had a fourth-place finisher in the 133 pound bracket. Junior

finished right behind in third-place. Stormer started off the match with a dominant fall at the 4:26 mark over Augustanas'
Kade Sammons, and then followed up with a 17-0 defeat over teammate Wonser to only be slightly edged 5-4 in the final by
Kenneth Lenger of Augustana. Wonser had a bit of a different route, defeating
Seth Nebel of Augustana in the opening round 7-4. The second-round provided a bit more of a scare as Wonser won 10-9 over
Antonio Ruiz of Jamestown, before suffering the defeat to teammate Stormer. Wonser wrapped up the day with a couple of wins over Jamestowns'

Kolby Kost of Augustana. White started the day with a fall over Jamestowns'

Cullen Glatt of Jamestown at the 3:25 mark and
Corey Dawe of Wayne State at the 2:10 mark. White then advanced to face Kost due to a medical forfeit by teammate
Keegan Berry, who was the next opponent for White.
