MINOT, ND – The Minot State women's basketball team continues conference play this Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. against the Wolves of Northern State University at the MSU Dome. The Beavers will travel to Minnesota following Thursday's game to face Minnesota State University Moorhead. Minot State will take on the Dragons Saturday, Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m. to round out the weekend.
Last Time Out
The Beavers are coming off an exhibition victory over Valley City State University Tuesday evening. Minot State defeated the Vikings 76-64 at home.
Leading the Way
Amber Stevahn led Minot State with 21 points and four assists.
Anna Counts nearly tacked on a double-double, with 19 points and nine rebounds. Counts also added six assists and four blocks off the bench.
Kennedy Harris and
Natasha Elliott furthered support from the bench with eight points each. The Beavers forced 21 turnovers in Tuesday's win over Valley City State.
Scouting the Wolves
Northern State enters the week with a 4-2 (1-0) record. The Wolves are 1-1 in their last two games, with a 76-63 victory over Montana State University Billings and an 82-69 loss to Michigan Tech. Kailee Oliverson led the Wolves over the last two games, averaging 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Dragons
MSU Moorhead enters the week with a 1-4 (0-1) record. The Dragons went 1-1 in their last two games while competing in the Dacotah Bank Classic. MSU Moorhead concluded the tournament with a 65-52 loss to Michigan Tech and a 69-60 victory over Montana State University Billings. Peyton Boom leads the Dragons this season, averaging 14.8 points and seven rebounds per game.
Next Time Out
Minot State returns to action in Minnesota Friday, Dec. 10 with a 7:30 p.m. conference game against the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers then travel to face the Huskies of St. Cloud State Saturday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
