MANKATO, Minn. -- The Minot State University men's track and field posted the highest finish at the NSIC Championships in program history on Friday.
The Beavers boasted some outstanding accomplishments as the men's track and field team finished 7th (31.5 points) in the conference championships.

- 14 NSIC Medalists to become the most successful men's track & field team since joining Division II
The event ended with the men's 4x400 and the team of
Chase Doty,
Lewis Cotterill,
Chase Tandy, and
Joseph Green run 3:24.62 to finish 4th. It marked the highest finish at the NSIC Championships since joining Division II.
In the men's DMR,
Trestin Mancillas-Finnerty,
Chase Tandy,
Lewis Cotterill,
Jacob Jensen broke the school record and earned All-NSIC honors with a 2nd place finish.
Leif Nelson notched a 1.85m marking in the high jump to finish tied for 8th.
Logan Krueger recorded a 15.58m marking in the shot put to break the DII era.
Corbin Harris finished 13th in the same event with a toss of 13.98m.
In the 3000,
Jacob Jensen ran a time of 8:39.63 to break the DII era school record.
Lewis Cotterill recorded a time of 1:56.91 in the 800m to break his own program record. In the 60m hurdles,
Nathan Trujillo-Aragon finished 11th with a time of 8.70.
In the weight throw,
Logan Krueger placed 9th with a throw of 16.61m.
Chase Tandy ran a time of 49.69 to finish 3rd in the 400m and earn NSIC All-Conference Honors.
Opening the event was the mile, as
Jacob Jensen finished 7th with a time of 4:20.68 and
Trestin Mancillas-Finnerty placed 8th with a time of 4:22.62.
The top three finishers in each event and the top two relay teams are named to the
NSIC Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Team. NSIC Indoor Track & Field Athletes and Coach of the Year will be announced next week at
NorthernSun.org.
The Minot State women's track and field team will be in action on Day 3 of the NSIC Championships tomorrow. The action begins at 12 p.m. with the Pentathlon 60m Hurdles and the championships will conclude with the 4x400 at 8:45 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
