MOORHEAD, MINN.- The Minot State men's wrestling team participated in the NCAA Super Region V Tournament to figure out wrestlers that will qualify for nationals. The Beavers as a team placed 9th out of 10 teams with a team score of 29.5 and had three wrestlers place 5th in their respective brackets. 

Oscar Nellis, Shadi Mitwalli, and Jordan Will all placed for the Beavers. 

Nellis fell in the opening round of the 125 pound bracket to Jaxson Rohman of Augustana by a 5-3 decision. In the consolation bracket Nellis took the 6-3 decision over Mary's Jaden Verhagen to move on to defeat Upper Iowa's Dakota Henry by a 10-0 major decision. In the semifinals of the consultation bracket Jackson Stauffacher of Southwest Minnesota State got the better of Nellis by a 10-2 major decision. In the 5th place match Nellis got the better of Northern State's Landen Fischer by an 8-4 decision. 

In the 133 pound bracket Brandon Meikel fell to Jack Huffman of Augustana by a 6-1 decision. Meikel went on to take the 10-0 major decision over Christopher Williams of Northern State in the consultation bracket. Meikel fell to Minnesota State Mankato's Isaiah Mlsna by a 5-3 decision to end Meikel's collegiate career. 

Lincoln Stormer finished off his collegiate career going 0-2 at the Super Region Tournament. He started off with a 8-4 decision setback to Laken Boese of Mary followed by a 19-3 technical fall to Upper Iowa's Tate Murty. 

In the 149 pound bracket Shadi Mitwalli opened the tournament with a setback via fall by Hunter Burnett of Augustana. In the consultation bracket Mitwalli took down Nathan Hensley of Parkside via fall. Wyatt Turnquist of Northern State won by a major decision over Mitwalli by a 9-1 score. Mitwalli finished the night with a medical forfeit over Upper Iowa's Eric Faught. 

Nathan Baca went 0-2 on the day in the 157 pound bracket starting off the day with a 7-3 decision setback to Parkside's Ben Durocher followed by a 3-1 decision setback to Mary's Braydon Huber. 

In the 165 pound bracket Cannon Potts also went 0-2 thanks to Shane Gantz of Parkside's 10-2 major decision, and a 6-4 decision in favor of Leo Mushinsky of Mary. 

In the 174 pound bracket Cayden White started off the day by Dominic Murphy of St. Cloud State getting the pin on White at the 5:32 mark. White bounced back by getting the 11-1 major decision over MSU Moorhead's Anthony Castro. However, Tanner Wiese of Northern State pinned White at the 6:08 mark to end White's season. 

Senior Keegan Berry finished the day with a 1-2 record as Reece Woracheck of Parkside took the 4-2 decision over Berry moving Berry to a matchup with Mary's Wyatt Lidberg who Berry snuck past by a 5-4 decision. Berry rounded out the day with a 8-3 decision setback to Northern State's Treyton Cacek. 

In the 197 pound bracket Dustin Swisher finished the day with an 0-2 record as he fell by a 4-2 decision to Cole Huss of Northern State followed by a 7-4 setback decision to Dylan Butts of MSU Mankato. 

In the heavyweight bracket BIG Jordan Will took 5th on the day and a 2-2 record. Jacob Dykes of Southwest Minnesota State defeated Will to open the day by securing a fall at the 1:53 mark. However, Will fought back with a 4-0 decision over Jordan Baumler of Upper Iowa. In the semifinals of the consultation round Steven Hajas of Augustana took the 4-3 decision to move Will to the 5th place match where Will faced Dykes again but this time took the 6-1 decision. 

Unfortunately the Beavers didn't get any qualifiers for nationals as the top three in each weight class move on, but the Beavers had a great season and will greatly miss the seniors as they move on from MSU.
