MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State men's wrestling team enjoyed a successful home debut, picking up a pair of wins without losing a match against Saskatchewan and Northland Community and Technical College at the 2^nd annual Beaver Bash Duals on Friday at the MSU Dome.

Heavyweight Jake Swirple led the way with three wins, all by pin, on the day, while junior-college transfer Wayne Joint enjoyed an equally successful home debut as he earned three wins, one by pin, on the day.

They powered the Beavers who beat Saskatchewan 60-0 and Northland CTC 59-0.

Swirple picked up a win by pin in 1 minute, 17 seconds over Lucas Urness from Northland, then in an extra match against Northland's Robert Gamble, he won by pin in 2:11.

Swirple added a win by pin in 1:53 over Owen McGillivray of Saskatchewan.

As for Joint, who wrestled all extra matches at 141 pounds, he won by pin over Ashton Bodnarchuk of Saskatchewan in 1:41, then beat Drake Buechler of Saskatchewan by an 18-1 technical fall. Joint added a 20-5 technical fall victory over Christian Kirchner of Northland on the day.

While they led the way, all the Beavers enjoyed great success on the mat, including Kelby Armstrong at 157 and Cannon Potts at 197 as both won a pair of matches by pin to add to Minot State's team score in both duals.

The Beaver Bash Duals were the final tune-up for the Minot State men's wrestling team before they open NSIC action hosting St. Cloud State and Southwest Minnesota State on Dec. 1 and 2.
