Minot, N.D- The Beavers will compete in 2 more games before taking off for Christmas break. To start the weekend, the Beavers will head to Moorhead, Minnesota on Friday to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons at 5:30. On Saturday, the Beavers will depart to Aberdeen, South Dakota to compete against the Northern State University Wolves at 4:00.
The Beavers currently stand 1-3 in conference, stealing a win against Bemidji State University. The Beavers are currently led in field goals by
Lara Dobbins with 40, 3-pointers by
Maya Aguilar with 21, and rebounds by
Emma Mogen with 53.
The last time the Beavers and the Dragons faced off, the Beavers fell just short in the 56-52-point game.
Sydney Gustavsson and
Ashley Wacha accounted for 62 percent of the points for the Beavers. Gustavsson led the Beavers, scoring a game-high 25 points and securing 8 rebounds, which was a team-high.
Minnesota State University Moorhead currently is 4-0 in conference. Leading the Dragons in field goals is Terryn Johnson with 44. Leading the Dragons in 3-pointers is Natalie Jens with 15. Johnson also leads the Dragons in rebounds with 79.
When the Beavers last faced the Wolves of Northern State University, the Beavers fell short in the 67-57-point game. The Beavers put in a great defensive effort where they held the Wolves to only 40 percent shooting from the field and 20 percent from 3-point land on 25 attempts.
