MINOT, N.D. – Minot State Men's and Women's Basketball hits the road to complete the last two games of the regular season. Friday, the Beavers take on Southwest Minnesota State, with the women first followed by the men. Saturday, the women will start the evening by facing University of Sioux falls followed by the men.
Women's basketball looks to split with the Mustangs, as the Mustangs got the best of the Beavers last time out in Minot with a victory of 42-80. Freshman guard,
Maya Aguilar led the Beavers with a game high of seven points off the bench.
Saturday's contest for the women will be a very anticipated match up with the Cougars of University of Sioux Falls. The Beavers clawed away with a 62-60 win over the Cougars.
Emily Srejma led the way with a game high of 19 points with two other ladies hitting double figures off the bench, (
Maya Aguilar and Sydney Gustavsson). A win Saturday vs. the Cougars would wrap up the Beavers first NSIC playoff berth since the 2019-20 season.
Men's Basketball currently sits 4
th the NSIC standings with Southwest Minnesota State one game behind. With a win over the Mustangs on Friday, the Beavers will clinch their spot at 4
th place heading into the NSIC tournament. Minot State got the best of Southwest Minnesota State in their last match up at home, beating the Mustangs 72-60.
Khari Broadway led the way for the Beavers with a game high of 20 points.
The Beavers will turn around on Saturday to take on a hard nose University of Sioux Falls team. Minot State dominated in their last match up vs. the Cougars with a 78-60 win at the Dome. The Beavers were led by five beavers with double digits. A win over the Cougars will complete a season sweep for the 2023-24 season.
